Among the many items of interest in my grandmother's collection are four photo albums. One, the "red album" belonged to her grandmother, Margaret Bushfield McFarland Doble and her husband Abner Doble. Some of the photographs are identified; many are not. Of those that are identified, most belong to the Doble relatives. This is a 50 page album, with up to four photos per page.
The "brown album" belonged to Francis Ferrier. A few of the photos are identified on the backs. This is a 36 page album, with a mixture of 4-shot pages and single shot pages.
The "other" brown album belonged to Lizzie M. Doble, and is so titled on the cover. This is a 50 page album, also with a mixture of 4-shot and single shot pages. It includes several pages of photos of young women, some with newspaper clippings about marriages (and one death). I presume that these are Lizzie's Mills College classmates.
The various photographers whose names and info are on the backs of the photos are listed separately (although they are referenced in the captions).
