Week 3
August 2, 2004 – We are now on the third dumpster, but it’s smaller this time. The kitchen-garage wall came down (it’s nowhere near current code requirements). And the previous remodel of the porch was undone. We found some gorgeous parquet flooring in the original living room and dining room – except for where the previous archway and addition were done. So it has to go. And we finally start reconstruction, as Ted drills holes for the foundation piers. Each pier needs to be about 10 feet deep, and a foot in diameter, into the clay layer.
